Philippians 4:8

Saturday, August 29th, 2009

Summing it all up, friends, I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. (The Message)

Gabe's Confusion

Thursday, August 27th, 2009

As I was working on the computer last night, Gabe came into the office several times, to show me how he could toss and spin a beachball different ways and catch it, stating each time “Just one more time”. On his last entry, I said “give me a minute”. He said OK and walked out. Five minutes later he came back. This is how the conversation went:
Gabe: I’m a little confused.
Me: About what?
Gabe: I’m confused about minutes. Some minutes are long, and some minutes are short.
Me: What do you mean?
Gabe: Sometimes a minute takes a long time, sometimes a minute is really short.
Hmm! I then proceeded to try and explain how sometimes when an adult says “give me a minute”, they are not always asking for an actual minute, they usually mean more than a minute, but, sometimes it can be less.
Oh the joys of parenthood!

Mountain Critter A Candidate For Endangered List : NPR

Saturday, August 8th, 2009

I just came across this story and want to let all Pokemon Collectors know that this lil critter is not related to Pikachu. Please do not put him in a ball and through him around. He is not capable of battle with other Pokemon.

Pickering Creek Visit

Saturday, August 8th, 2009

I just visited Pickering Creek Audubon Center this afternoon. A short walk along the trail to do some recording, saw some very interesting mushrooms. Walked a lap around the pond, plenty of frogs, turtles and dragon flies. There was one Blue Heron, he spotted me before I had the camera ready, I was unable to get any shots off. Hope to get some of the recording and pictures up later this evening.
